Hello again!

Oh hey there! Its been awhile, hasn't it? These pictures are from my visit to Texas a week ago. Wow, it has been a long hiatus. Between all the traveling, working, the weather and the SOPA online protest I haven't been much good. I mentioned the weather right? Seattle has had some crazy weather. We got snow that shut the city down for a couple days. Lucky for me, I could walk to work so while everyone else got to go sledding I got to be at work. And even more lucky for me, with all the snow and rain my bedroom has flooded.

But anyways the Texas trip was fun and relaxing. Topher and I hung out with his family, ate tons of food and watched a lot of football. We also got to visit Bloom, a store owned by one of my favorite bloggers Kendi Everyday! I was beyond excited to visit the little shop and ended up getting this skirt from there at a steal.

Black and Tan

This skirt is a complete gem! I found it on sale for $40 and its original price was $145! As I was trying it on, thinking no way was it actually this price I was also thinking "Wow, this is amazing! It would be even better if it had pockets!". And at that very moment my hands found themselves in pockets. SOLD!

Anyone doing anything special this weekend? As you read this, Topher and I are headed to Dallas to visit some of his family. Hopefully it will be warm and sunny, the Seattle grey is kind of getting to me lately. An added bonus if we can seek out some cool vintage shops!

New blue suede skirt

I am so excited about this skirt! Look at how bright it is! With spring coming up I feel like this skirt is going to get a lot of use. Has anyone seen the sneak peak of the Madewell Spring Collection (when and if I can find the source I will link)? All the color has gotten me inspired and assured that I need more bright color in my life. And polka dots!!! I could DIE.

By the way, see that face in the third photo? That's my "Rufio, you better cut it out!" face. He was barking at a passing jogger while we were snapping photos. Just let the man exercise on peace, dog!

90's inspired

Oh hey there blog. No, no, I haven't forgotten about you. Its been a busy week between work, being sick and trying to decide about going back to school. But I think I've decided! Nursing school it is! If only I would have decided this when I was doing my first bachelors degree. Oh well I guess. Now on to calls and emails and research.

I wore this outfit yesterday for a brunch and photo shoot with my friend Gerry and her adorable baby Isabella! Oh dear, that little one is a cutie! I can't believe Isabella didn't make a peep the whole morning, even while her mama was snapping pictures of me!

Now on to my outfit- between this dress and boots I feel like I should be watching My So Called Life or Daria. Now that I think of it I should've thrown on a flannel too. Womp womp. Next time I guess.

Birthday Boots

Remember those boots I was telling you about that the boy got my for my birthday? These are the ones! Ah, I'm in love with them!! And they are wicked comfy. They are now the perfect pair of boots for everything- running around town, wearing out to breakfast, wearing with a dress.

I'm so ready for the weekend. And I don't even have a good excuse, I had a short work week this week and I only went in to the office once last week. And- now that I think about it the next two weeks at work are going to be short too. HA! I win. To celebrate I'll be wearing my new comfy boots.

Elitch Gardens

Oh hey, guess what? This is my first real post of the new year. Want to know the mind bender about it all? These photos were taken last year. Whoa.

These photos are from my last day in Colorado. We went to the old Elitch Gardens theatre. This is the spot of an old amusement park that I used to go to when I was really young and now its an amazing neighborhood with a cute little shopping area and houses. After seeing how the neighborhood turned out, I'm pretty sure this is the place I want to live if I move back to Denver (well that is if I don't live in Boulder).

While in Denver, I picked up this faux leather jacket and I haven't taken it off yet. Plus I scored these cheetah print flats on sale at Target for less that 10 dollars. Woot woot!

But off to write my new years resolutions. Yes, I'm still writing them but if you haven't noticed we're still checking out photos from 2011 so I'm giving myself a get out of jail pass for this one.

Happy New Year!

So which dress won the vote?! Dress 3! Thanks to a lovely friend, May, I chose the red and black theme. I'd have to say the outfit was a complete success though my favorite part is the red bow in my hair. Actually, the whole day was a success! It started off with some birthday shopping and lunch. I bought myself the Marc by Marc Jacobs watch I have been lusting over for a long time. After that I got to open up some presents from the boy. I got a pair of combat boots from Madewell a couple days ago as an early gift and then I got an owl cookie jar from Anthropologie and an owl pencil holder for my office. Shoes and owls! What more could a girl ask for?

We had a pretty low key New years and birthday celebration night. We went out to dinner and then had a few friends over at the house that I'm housesitting at. Lucky us, a party was going on a few blocks away so after we rang in the New Year we walked over to a crazier festivity. Although from the picture below of me and a friend, you would think we had enough crazy all by ourselves.
