To Market

Sundays are really the best day of the week for me. Topher and I both have Sundays off and we always start the day going to our favorite place in town, Voula's and then usually end with dinner with friends. Last Sunday we headed down to the Ballard farmer's market after breakfast to get goods for dinner that night. I'm now convinced this is something we should do every week.

Can we talk about this sweater? I have worn it almost every day since I bought it from Urban Outfitters. I'm even wearing it today. I've been lusting over a really expensive sweater from another store but couldn't justify spending all that money so this one was a good middle ground.

Topher and I are on vacation starting today and visiting Oregon! See you readers when we get back!

Goodbye old friend

This last weekend I said goodbye to my bike. It was a good farewell as I know it will actually be used and loved (thanks Raleigh!). Part of the deal was that I get some last shots with this beauty. Bike plus cute outfit means photos for the win! I had this bike completely rebuilt and it will be exciting to see if Raleigh will make any changes.

Whoa Wednesday

I woke up this morning completely excited the week was almost over. Wrong! Its only Wednesday. Argh. Anyone else feel like this week has crept by at a snail's pace? And on top of that I think I have lost my phone 4-5 times. Not a "oh look I found my phone on the couch" kind of lost, but a "I need to run back to the bar and hope my phone is still there" lost. And you remember my September goals? I still haven't made it to the gym, nope not even once. Well, at least I paid that credit card balance. It all evens out, right?

After wearing this outfit, I'm pretty sure this will be worn all the time this fall. Its so comfy and yet looks like I tried to look acceptable at work. And these boots were on my I need this for Fall list. Next time I will need to get a detailed picture, the best part about these boots you can't even see in the picture.

September Goals

Hello September! I'm starting something new this month- goals! We all have them and most of the time we don't keep them. I figure if I make them as public as possible I'm more likely going to follow through with them. Win for me. And say hello to Missy and River, my little puglets that I take care once in awhile. And by take care of, I mean I feed them and in turn they think I'm pretty exciting.

So here we go, 5 goals for September:
1- Take a vacation! All summer I has been waiting for the chance to get out of town and forget my phone. Topher and I are trying to figure out our little getaway at the end of the month. Any suggestions?
2- Hit the gym 4-5 times a week. 'Nuff said.
3- Pay off that last little bit on my credit card. Why I still have that balance is beyond me... Can I easily pay it? Yes. Is it pure laziness? Also yes.
4- Look at and finalize my list of schools to apply to for nursing (you all remember that decision awhile back, yah?).
5- Drink as much pumpkin spiced this as possible. I may have had a minor explosion of excitement ordering coffee this morning. Pumpkin spice lattes y'all!!!

Oh, hello there.

Yep, you got that right? The blog is back to life! And remember my dead camera, well that's back to life too! Except you're not getting photos taken on my nice camera, yep these are iPhone photos. Why? Because I do what I want!

And while I have you here I'm also going to let you know that being a fashion blogger is quite taxing so we are going to take a new spin on things around here. Think more lifestyle blogging, style will still be in the mix but there will be more things like Rufio and fun day to day things.

Topher and I went to our good friend's wedding a few weeks ago and I was able to get some quick shots of us. (also, look at how styling my boyfriend is!!)

Oh, and there will still be outfit details because come on, it's still a style blog:

Blogger Woes

Oh hey Monday- I thought I was going to conquer you and take no prisoners but instead you had different plans for me. For one, after the move I seemed to have lost my camera charger.
So instead of getting to see an outfit post today you will get an iPhone picture of my dead camera.
Thanks again Monday.

Spring has sprung!

Whoa, hey is that SUN!?! Why yes it is! Even more surprising, bare legs! Hello Spring! Which for us Seattle-ites we know its a short lived and back to rain at any moment. (Which by the way, the rain returned today)

These pictures are from the weekend and boy was it an eventful weekend. I went to my first estate sale with a new friend, went out with some friends and saw the Hunger Games. Yes, the Hunger Games.... and you know what? I loved it.

Canadian Tuxedo, eh?

Ah Chambray, the new love of my life. Comfort and style, and if you're ballsy enough to pair with blue jeans you have yourself a classic Canadian tuxedo! I may be guilty of this (only one or two times, I swear).

Has anyone felt like they've been in a hair funk? Maybe its the changing seasons but one day I wake up and I'm ready to chop all my hair off, the next I'm ready to do a drastic ombre color to it, and today I want to grow out my bangs. That Topher is on to something, just shave it all off and not worry about it. No no, let's re-think that thought- I don't think I can pull off a Natalie Portman shaved head.

One year ago today I met Topher, the sweetest and overall best guy a girl could ever hope to find. I feel like one lucky broad today.

Brew time!

So beer and outfits go together right?!? I'm going to mesh the two here because its too cool to not mention that we brewed our own beer and let's face it, this is a style blog. Actually I watched the boys brew the beer and then I made the pizza. Oh ok, it was frozen pizza so I actually didn't do much at all.

Above is the pot, bags of grains, and other fun things to brew beer. They added so many different types of grain that I couldn't keep track. Nor could I stay awake in to the wee hours of the morning. I think soon they are adding blueberries and bottling!

Below, I was hovering over Rufio while he was meeting a cat. Border collies and cats make me very nervous.

Stripes all over!

I love this striped skirt. I got it at Forever21 for a mere $7! I'm pretty sure every outfit I have put together lately includes stripes somewhere on me. I'm even trying to get the nerve to wear stripes stripes, I saw this amazing outfit on Pinterest a couple days ago with a similar skirt.

Speaking of Pinterest, I have been holding back on trying this website out because I knew I would get sucked in. Well guess what?!? I'm hooked! You can find me here if you want to follow my boards (ooh, I sound so fancy).

Weekend Warrior Outfit

This has been my standard weekend wear lately, maybe because I am obsessed with stripes and rolled up boyfriend jeans... or maybe its because I've been living out of my suitcase for the last month and decided to pack ONE pair of jeans. I'm not too sure what I was thinking at the time. But now that I'm moved in to the new place I will have all the jeans in the world to wear again!

So here it is, comfort and fashion at its finest on a Sunday.

New home!

Oh hello AGAIN. Remember my last post when I thought I was slacking on the blog? Well now I have to admit that I brought my slacking to a whole new level. This last month has been chaotic but that still doesn't leave me with any good excuse. But we've moved into a new place! Yahoo! No more flooding, no more stress, no more walking to work (wait, that's not a good thing), and more dog walks.

So here we are, me and Ruff outside my new building. And do you see below?!? I can see the Space Needle from the back of my apartment building. I'm so excited about this I could burst. Expect a lot more photos from my backyard.

Now let's talk about the outfit today. Just a simple work outfit. Since I moved I forgot about a lot of things in my closet including this brown velvet blazer. I love this blazer but forget that I own it since it's hard to mix and match with my standard all black assemble.

Hello again!

Oh hey there! Its been awhile, hasn't it? These pictures are from my visit to Texas a week ago. Wow, it has been a long hiatus. Between all the traveling, working, the weather and the SOPA online protest I haven't been much good. I mentioned the weather right? Seattle has had some crazy weather. We got snow that shut the city down for a couple days. Lucky for me, I could walk to work so while everyone else got to go sledding I got to be at work. And even more lucky for me, with all the snow and rain my bedroom has flooded.

But anyways the Texas trip was fun and relaxing. Topher and I hung out with his family, ate tons of food and watched a lot of football. We also got to visit Bloom, a store owned by one of my favorite bloggers Kendi Everyday! I was beyond excited to visit the little shop and ended up getting this skirt from there at a steal.

Black and Tan

This skirt is a complete gem! I found it on sale for $40 and its original price was $145! As I was trying it on, thinking no way was it actually this price I was also thinking "Wow, this is amazing! It would be even better if it had pockets!". And at that very moment my hands found themselves in pockets. SOLD!

Anyone doing anything special this weekend? As you read this, Topher and I are headed to Dallas to visit some of his family. Hopefully it will be warm and sunny, the Seattle grey is kind of getting to me lately. An added bonus if we can seek out some cool vintage shops!

New blue suede skirt

I am so excited about this skirt! Look at how bright it is! With spring coming up I feel like this skirt is going to get a lot of use. Has anyone seen the sneak peak of the Madewell Spring Collection (when and if I can find the source I will link)? All the color has gotten me inspired and assured that I need more bright color in my life. And polka dots!!! I could DIE.

By the way, see that face in the third photo? That's my "Rufio, you better cut it out!" face. He was barking at a passing jogger while we were snapping photos. Just let the man exercise on peace, dog!

90's inspired

Oh hey there blog. No, no, I haven't forgotten about you. Its been a busy week between work, being sick and trying to decide about going back to school. But I think I've decided! Nursing school it is! If only I would have decided this when I was doing my first bachelors degree. Oh well I guess. Now on to calls and emails and research.

I wore this outfit yesterday for a brunch and photo shoot with my friend Gerry and her adorable baby Isabella! Oh dear, that little one is a cutie! I can't believe Isabella didn't make a peep the whole morning, even while her mama was snapping pictures of me!

Now on to my outfit- between this dress and boots I feel like I should be watching My So Called Life or Daria. Now that I think of it I should've thrown on a flannel too. Womp womp. Next time I guess.
